London Landmarks Half 2023
Sunday 2nd April – 8:30am
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster 👸🏼
The idea of the London Landmarks Half Marathon was born in 2014 when baby charity, Tommy’s, embarked on a strategy to double the amount of money they raise annually from £4m to £8 million. They decided that launching a new mass participation event was the best way forward. The team at Tommy’s wanted the half marathon to be more than just a run and so developed the strap line, ‘The Grand, The Quirky, The Hidden’. The idea being that the route would shine a spotlight on not only London’s grand iconic landmarks, but also its quirky and hidden history 💎
Starting at Nelson’s Column the fantastic route takes runners passed St Pauls Cathedral, the Cheese Grater 🧀, The Gherkin 🥒, the Walkie Talkie 📞, The Tower of London 🏰 and Big Ben ⏰ to cross the finish line near Downing Street.
It was PB’s all round for our six Harriers as Los Jellybaby 👶🏼 (running as Mik) 1:24:00, Captain Bartz 👨🏻✈️1:25:52, Tinks 🧚🏻 1:34:08, Shipo ⛴️ 1:37:33, Chris Little 🔥 1:45:28 and Nemo 🐠 1:55:26, joined a record breaking 17,000 entrants to take part this year.
We would all certainly recommend this as a bucket list 🪣 event. The atmosphere, organisation, music 🎶, route, medal 🥇, and all the bits in between were absolutely awesome ⭐️ 💛
