Our Juniors train on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7pm and every 1st Wednesday of the month on the athletics track at Eastbourne Sports Park, Cross Levels Way from 7pm-8pm together with our Seniors.

The training sessions are open to all children over 8 and are suitable for all abilities. Please come along and try out a session to find out more!

On Tuesdays we meet at:

Hailsham Cricket Pavilion, Western Road.  BN27 3DN

We start and finish at the pavilion and each session has a different format put together by our coaches. In December, the juniors run their own version of the adults’ Turkey Trot race, this is called ‘The Chicken Run’, named after one of our Harriers club coaches, Julie Chicken, who has been with the club since it began in 1984.

Our junior runners also have their own awards ceremony in March/April which often takes the shape of a fun activity such as an afternoon at Urban Jump (Heathfield) or Branching Out (Halland).

All training sessions are fully supervised by our qualified coaches. Our coaches have specific experience of training younger members and they focus on encouraging all our young people and making everyone feel included. Some Juniors choose to compete at varying levels and it goes without saying that Hailsham Harriers fully supports them when they do so.

Hailsham Harriers take safeguarding and child protection seriously, our safeguarding leads are Head Coach, Annette Feakes and Senior coach, Graham Purdye. For a full copy of our policy click here.

We also abide by the UK Athletics child protection policy and procedures.
