Bates Green Relays❤️🖤

  /  Bates Green Relays❤️🖤

Please note: This event replaces our Herstmonceux castle Relays is BY INVITATION ONLY.

August 2026 Date – Wednesday 12th

Since 1994, Hailsham Harriers have been proud to host a summer relay event in the month of August.  Originally this was held at Herstmonceux Castle in honour of the club’s 10th year anniversary and was the brain child of Paul Eccles (peccles) who took on many roles within the club, paving the way for our members and representing our vision and values of today.
Since 2024 we now hold this event at the stunning Bates Green Farm, Arlington BN26 6SH. The event usually takes place on a Wednesday evening in August with a start time of 7pm. Parking available on site.
Clubs will recieve an invitation extending to a maximum of 7 teams per club. A team will consist of 4 runners running 1 leg each of approximately 1.5 miles. The event will take place in our beautiful countryside run entirely off road. Each team will be issued with a chip timed baton, accurately recording times.
We offer prizes in the following categories Male and Female senior teams for athletes under 40 years of age. Male and female veteran athletes over 40 years of age. Mixed team category with senior and veteran age categories as above. Each club will also be permitted to enter up to 2 junior teams although this will form part of your overall allocation.
Entries will be via the Sports systems link which will be sent out with invites.  Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Entries are £32 per team. The closing date for entries will be 1 week before the event date.
As already described the course will be cross country, in places this will be uneven underfoot due to the nature of the terrain all runners take part at their own risk. Hailsham Harriers, Bates Green farm and Primrose farm are not able to take responsibility for any injuries sustained during this event.
We enjoy hosting this friendly event where our shared community comes together and we look forward to seeing you all there.
