Sunday 16th April

This is a long standing event which was originally designed as an event for runners 🏃🏼‍♀️, walkers🚶🏻‍♂️, and cyclists 🚴 – under its former guise as the Seaford Martello Triple Challenge. 

In 2019 it was decided to restrict the event to runners 🏃🏽‍♂️ and re name it as the Martello Half Marathon. This has proved successful and has helped to increase participation numbers.

Organised by Seaford Martello Rotary and local running club, Seaford Striders the event raises money for The Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance 🚁, The Chaseley Trust and Waves Seaford 🌊.

The running route offers a beautiful but tough run following footpaths and tracks up onto the Downs.  After a section along the South Downs Way, taking in the stunning views, runners have an exhilarating downhill to Bishopstone before a long flat run along the seafront prom to the cheers of the crowds, finishing at Seaford Rugby Club 🏉 

Graham Woolley 🧶 and Leeland Pavey 🚴🏽‍♂️ flew the black and red flag 🖤❤️ both having cracking runs on a challenging course.  Woolley finished in a mighty 8th place 1:37:38 (2nd in age) with Leeland 🚴🏽‍♂️storming over the finish in 2:08:47 💪🏼
