Sunday 2nd April – From 9am

More than 10,000 runners pounded the streets of Brighton at the weekend of April 1st as they took part in the Brighton Marathon and Brighton 10K, with many entrant’s running for fast times and good causes.

Saved from uncertainty by London Marathon Events, it was great to see this superb event with it’s electric atmosphere, go ahead.

The weekend started on Saturday with the Mini Mile for youngsters in Preston Park and on Sunday, the 10k began, at it’s new start on Hove Lawns, before the main marathon event from Preston Park, at 9.45am.

Stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Alfie Ordinary and Joe Black, set runners off to a sensational start with the route passing many of Brighton’s Landmarks – St Peter’s Church ⛪️, the Royal Pavilion 🕌and the Palace Pier.

Running for the Harriers 🖤❤️in the 10K saw Tom Price, returning to form, first Harrier home in 46:24, followed by Steph in a superb time of 51:48 ⭐️ and Maria Stanford also racing to an impressive time of 1:08:46 💕 

Producing a sensational run in the marathon saw Adam Davies 🦈 smash an incREDible seven minutes off his personal best time running 3:11:13 💪🏼, followed by Bilts 💙 ⚽️, also racing to a new personal best in 3:49:58 (All those accumulator miles paying off 😜) It was a great pleasure to see our club legend, Graham Pundye, who had a rocky start to the year with illness, run a sterling performance of 3:52:37 after he took a last minute marathon entry just a few weeks previous🤩 

Chris Shoult, just seconds off his marathon personal best, finished comfortably in 4:11:32 with our newest Harrier, Barry Burgess, running with his friend and neighbouring Heathfield Road Runner, Katy Tatlock.  Together they crossed the line in 5:29:51
