Heading out to sunnier weather and flying our black and red colours for a consecutive year were The Legend 🙌(Pete Daws), Sarah Day 🌷 and Ruby Murrie 🍛(Don Currie), cheered on by top Harriers support team, Claire Daws ❤️

The gang, joined by Sarah’s brother Jon, and Faye Stevensova from Run Wednesdays 💖, loosened up their legs at the breakfast run on the Saturday morning.  Here they enjoyed some pre-race atmosphere and sunshine ☀️ ahead of the the big day.

With beautiful blue skies and sunshine, race day morning presented perfect running conditions 🏃🏼‍♀️ with temperatures 14° and dry.

The marathon and half marathon saw a combined total of 11000 runners taking to the beautiful palm tree 🌴 and orange tree 🍊 lined streets.

Both routes are stunning, relatively flat courses which weave in and out of the most beautiful parts of the city, passing through the wonderful glittering streets of Malaga, along the coast line and for the marathon distance, even a circuit of the Athletics Stadium.

In the Half Marathon Ruby Murrie crossed the line in 1:40:43 (quicker than 2023) with Faye 💖 2:37:10 🙌 whilst in the marathon Sarah Day 🌷, taking part in her first ever marathon, raced to a personal best of 4:01:12 with brother Jon hot on her heels also in a PB time of 4:21:22.  Two mighty fabulous times team Day 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Of course our Legend, Pete Daws, cruised over the line, showing us all how it’s done, to finish in an impressive 4:39:19 ⭐️ and no doubt securing yet another London Marathon G4A place for 2026 😻 That’s why we call him the Legend!!!

Congratulations to you all on those superb performances, we hope those post race celebrations included plenty of cocktails 🍹 What a fabulous way to end a year 🥰❤️⭐️☀️
