Sunday 15th February 🌊 🖤❤️

Every Sunday morning at 9am, the seafront by the Wish Tower comes alive with energy as young runners gather for the fantastic Eastbourne Junior parkrun.

This free, friendly 2K event is designed especially for children aged 4–14 and is all about building confidence, having fun and finishing with a smile, not just finishing first.

Hailsham Harriers brought our trademark energy on Sunday 15th Feb, for a brilliant club takeover, filling the many vital volunteer roles 💜that make junior parkrun possible week after week.

From marshalling and course set-up to timing ⏱️, barcode scanning and cheering every runner home, our Harriers were out in force. Every role is simple to learn, with an experienced Run Director, our amazing Charlie Long 👩🏻‍⚕️, on hand to guide the morning.

From the first finisher to the final walker, the encouragement on Sunday was loud, proud and unmistakably Hailsham

Our Junior Captain Daisy 🌼 led the Harriers charge, joined by teammates John Gilkes, McKenzie Haddon, Shae Haddon, Bethany Buick, Lillie Buick and Bette Davis as they ran, supported fellow runners and helped out before and after the event.

John 🏃🏽 finished first Harrier home and 5th overall in 9:37, followed by Daisy 🌼 in 10:46, Bethany 🌺 11:46, McKenzie 🌷13:09, Lillee 🌻14:57, Bette 🌸15:05, and Shae 💕20:49

With cheers ringing around the course, high-fives at the finish and milestone wristbands celebrating dedication and consistency, the atmosphere was electric⚡️. Whether children sprint, jog or walk, every participant is celebrated and every finish feels like a victory.
