🍇 Rathfinny 10K and Half Marathon 🍷
Sunday 23rd April
The Rathfinny Run is an exceptionally special running experience. Taking place the day after World Earth Day 🌎, it focuses on reducing it’s environmental impact and encourages runners to reduce their carbon footprint… It’s a green race 💚 achieving amazing things
This race sold out in 2022 (it’s debut year) and did so again this year.
With zero waste medals, a plastic free ethos♻️ encouraging runners to bring foldable cups, and an exciting opportunity to plant a tree 🌲 on the Rathfinny Estate, this is a run for those that want to make a difference to the environment and their place in it 🗺️
As travel is a big part of a runners carbon footprint, 🦶🏽runners were encouraged to car share or hop on a shuttle bus from Seaford and Berwick Train Stations.
Running for the Harriers 🖤❤️ in the challenging 10K on what was to be a wet & windy morning, were Annette and Leeland 🚴 both producing sterling performances. Annette finished 4th female overall and first in age – 56:33 with Leeland 🚴 1:01:17 🤩
Over in the half marathon Tasha Hawkes made her debut Harriers race, rocking the black and red vest, together with The Leeks, Felicity, Victoria and Mumma Roo. The Leeks blasted the hills to a fantastic win for the ladies 🥇 lifting the trophy for the second year in a row, finishing in 1:43:07 😱 with Tash and Tracy running together in 2:21:50, Felicity and Victoria also running together in 2:29:08 👏🏻 🍷🍇 🍔 🍟
Congratulations to you all on your fabulous performances in unpleasant weather conditions and on two challenging courses. You guys truly are tough cookies 🍪 💪🏼
