Sunday 11th June – 8:30am

Last year temperatures were a perfect 22°, fast forward to this year and it was a different story as 300 runners set off in a moist 27° for the Weald Challenge Half and 50K Ultra 🥵.

Both Weald Challenge Trail Races follow the long distance paths of the stunning Wealdway and the Vanguard Way. Both races start and finish in the beautiful village of Chiddingly and encompass the surrounding beauty of the Sussex countryside on route. The courses are both undulating and mostly off-road but runners get to experience picturesque scenery, rolling hills, and the ancient woodlands of Felicity’s extended back garden 😂 🪴🌳🌸

Running for the Harriers in the half marathon were The Bassett Hound 🐶, 2:19:36, Robin 🏄🏼‍♀️2:19:36, Chris Little 🔥2:24:02, Tom Price 🧑‍💼 2:30:22, Steph 👧🏼 2:42:28, Hannah 🏕️ 2:42:28, Victoria 👮🏻‍♀️2:42:28, and Felicity 2:42:28 

Looks like they all had a fabulous day enjoying the trails and carrying their sensible heads to the finish in that heat.  Well done team 👏🏻

Never one to overlook an extreme challenge, Nadine flew the Harriers flag in the 50K Ultra distance 😱she was joined by her pal Connie Griffin and together the hardy pair braved the conditions, the terrain and the hills to finish, all smiles, in 7:07:28 🤩 

All finishers received a quality bespoke handmade Weald Challenge event coffee mug ☕️ and Weald Challenge half marathon medal 🏅 unless the runner opted into “Meals Not Medals”, an idea developed by the fabulous organiser, Stuart Mills, to help provide a meal to someone in need, through the excellent work of Uckfield Foodbank.  Rather than a medal, £4 of the runners entry fee gets donated to Uckfield Foodbank.
