Sunday 18th June – 10am

Team black and red 🖤❤️ were out in full force at this years Heathfield Midsummer 10K, an event that represents race number 6 in the Sussex Grand Prix league – a series of twelve running events from March to November where Sussex clubs compete against each other for team and individual running awards.

The Heathfield 10K is one of the toughest races in the SGP and certainly not for those that love flat routes 😂 However what this course does offer are scenic, quiet, country lanes, some awesome downhill sections (if you like running downhill 🤣), friendly marshals, great cake 🧁 and a fabulous atmosphere 🎉 

The weather forecast had mentioned rain ☔️ but sadly that was not to be as 225 runners braved the warm temperatures of 24° with team 🖤&❤️fielding the biggest club turnout of 30 members, almost triple what we saw last year 🌟🌟🌟 

First Harrier across the line saw Lindford Krusty in a speedy 41:41 followed by Ads 🦈 41:33, Woolley 🧶 43:12, Sam 💪🏼 46:21, Tinks 🧚🏻‍♂️ 46:41, Audrey 🏆(who had an absolute flyer) 47:09, Bassett Hound 🐶 48:18, Robin 🏄🏼‍♂️ 49:12, Leeland🚴‍♀️ (after running another parky PB the day before) 50:02, Tina 3 Poo’s 🏆 50:18, Ruby Murray 🍛 51:43, The machine that is – Graham Pundye 51:44, Fluffs 🐌 53:27, Steph 🧁 🍒 56:06, Victoria 👮🏻‍♀️ 56:15, XC Hannah 🏕️ 56:46, Katy Reed 🦆 58:14, Lady Delves 😎 🏆58:30, Katie Manley 🌼 1:01:09, Nemo 🐟 1:02:01, Michelle 👧🏼1:02:29, Lisa PH 🧡 1:04:43, Julie D 🥰1:07:58, Lou Lou 😘 1:08:44, Claire ⭐️ 1:09:40, Darren 🚨 1:12:05, Robbie 🇮🇹 1:18:31, Maria Stanford 👸🏼 1:20:25 and Lord Norman 👑 1:27:30

It was a proud moment when Ed announced Hailsham Harriers were the winners of the award for the biggest club turnout 🥲 and only fitting that Lord Norman 🤴🏻 together with Darren graciously accepted the fantastic trophy 🏆– Be proud of yourselves Team 🖤❤️
