The Maverick Brighton Trail Marathon ππββοΈ
Sunday 12th April 2026
Our Harriers made their mark in style at the inaugural Brighton Trail Marathon, taking on a stunning yet testing course that weaved its way across the iconic South Downs above the cityβs famous coastline.
With sweeping sea π views, rolling hills Β β°οΈ and plenty of challenging terrain underfoot, this brand-new event delivered a true trail running experience with a chance to be part of the Brighton Marathon as the trail runners joined the main race to merge with the brighton marathon and experience the electric finish line atmosphere π€©
Leading the way for the ladies saw Alice π , who produced a sensational performance to finish as first female overall π₯ππ₯ in 3:39:35, a fantastic achievement on such a demanding course and a brilliant moment for the black and red. Β Alice now goes into the history books setting the course record π
In true Harriers spirit, Maria Smith ππΌββοΈ4:22:32, Ryan ππ½ 4:30:30 and Los πΆπΌ 4:22:24 tackled the course together, running as a tight-knit team from start to finish. Showing strength πͺπΌ, teamwork and determination in equal measure, the trio supported one another every step of the way, embodying exactly what our club is all about πͺπ€β€οΈ For Maria and Ryan this provided a little leg relief from their remarkable efforts at the Barcelona Marathon just one week before π€©
From lung-busting climbs to exhilarating descents overlooking the sea, it was a race that tested both legs and mindset but also delivered unforgettable views.
A huge well done to our Harriers four, an exciting new addition to the race calendar and if this year is anything to go by, the Brighton Trail Marathon is set to become a firm favourite!
