🐰 Sunshine, Speed & Family Spirit!

The Lewes Easter Races delivered a cracking day of springtime running, with sunshine, smiles and our brilliant family double act flying the flag for Hailsham Harriers.

Hosted by Lewes Athletic Club, the Easter 🐣 Fun Runs are held every Easter Monday as part of the West Sussex Fun Run League.  Starting at Lewes Athletic Club track at Wave Leisure Centre, Lewes, there are three events: The toddlers’ trot, a 1-mile race for under-15s and a 10km race for over-16s only.

In the 1-mile race, the future of our club shone bright as Harrison Keith 🏃🏽 powered home in a superb 7th place, smashing out a personal best of 6:36 in a seriously impressive run whilst John Gilkes 🏃🏻‍♂️ followed strongly, finishing in a mighty 15th place and also bagging a personal best of 6:57, showing fantastic determination all the way to the line – our future Harriers stars firmly on the rise! ⭐ ⭐

Meanwhile, in the 10K, proud mums Claire Keith  🍒 and Andrea led from the front with fantastic performances of their own. Claire ran a strong and consistent race to finish in 44:26, while Andrea delivered a superb run to clock a new personal best of 1:00:08, a perfect Easter 🐰 reward for the hard work they have both put in over the winter months.

🎤 A brilliant day all round, showcasing not just great results but the spirit of running as a family, exactly what it’s all about! Well done Harrison, John, Andrea and Claire 🙌
