Rome Marathon 2023
Sunday 19th March – 8am
Kaz and our Italian Stallion – Robbie, packed their bags and headed off to beautiful Rome last weekend to run the 2023 Rome Marathon. Past participants describe running this marathon ‘like running in an open-air museum’.
Rome is an eternal and unique city, full of charm and surprises. The 42,195km (26.2 miles) marathon takes runners past the most incredible sights, following the steps of Roman gladiators 👩🏼🚒as well as hundreds of thousands of marathoners 🏃🏽♀️ over the past 25 years.
Entrants run the famous Maratona Di Roma 🇮🇹 on antique cobblestones, passing by the Colosseum, along the Fori Imperiali, up to the Vatican ⛪️ and through St. Peters Square where Pope Francis takes the Sunday Morning Mass 🙏🏻
The Rome Marathon is a once in a lifetime experience, where gladiators wait at the finish line to present the well earned medals 🥇
Kaz and Robbie had the best time running every kilometre together. They finished hand in hand, smiling from ear to ear, and cheered on by Kaz’s hubby in 6:22:51 👏🏻 well done you two beauties, 💕we are all very proud of you both.
