Fortitdue Challenge 2023
Pippingford Park
Saturday 25th March – 8:30am
Two of our fabulous, C25K leaders joined 200 runners on Saturday to run the Fortitude Challenge.
The Fortitude Challenge is a timed, lapped, running event, whereby entrants run laps of 3, 4 or 5 miles on the hour, every hour for 10 hours. The challenging course takes in up to 700ft of elevation but proved no problem at all for Julie and Michelle.
They both chose the trail based, three mile lap and clocked up an impressive 33 miles each (even running to their van and back after each lap for refreshments) finishing with huge smiles, as for both, this heralded their furthest running distance ever 🤩
We never had any doubts they wouldn’t succeed and by the looks of the pictures they had a fabulous day, even joining our second claim Harrier Ed Diplock who clocked up an impressive 37 miles, and local runners Rachel and Louise from Heathfield Road Runners for some of the laps.
Tough stuff team and another incREDible achievement 💪🏼 super well done 👏🏻🖤❤️
