East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League
Race 5/6
Whitbread Hollow Eastbourne
Compared to last years brutal wind, driving rain and the scariest downhill EVER this years event, hosted by Run Wednesdays brought sunshine ☀️, blue skies, smiley marshals and plenty of happy runners.
With a course change from last year it was literally up, up, up, all the way to the Beachy Head pub for the 326 entrants in race number five of six in the league. Once finally up at the top (which felt very close to the sky ✈️) it was downhill all the way to the finish post.
First home for the Harriers saw Graham Woolley 🧶 continue his magnificent season crossing the line 29th overall, in 38:05 followed closely by Linford Crusty 31st (38:20), Captain Barts 👨🏻✈️ 37th (38:50), Los Jellybaby 👶🏼 46th 39:24, Bilts ⚽️ 59th (40:20), Matt Southam 💪🏼 64th (40:54), Dan 🛳️ 83rd (42:14), Tinks 🧚🏻♂️ 102nd (43:15), Jenny 🇨🇾 138th (45:57), Chris Little 🔥 143rd (46:18), Leeland 🚴🏽♂️175th (48:18), Popey 189th (49:12), Cross Country Hannah 210th (51:32), Victoria 👮🏻♀️ 217th (52:23), Julie Chicken 🐔 230th (53:23) and Felicity 🌸 235th (53:38)
Great work team, considering a few of you were still suffering with two day hangovers from the WOLO accumulator party 🤯 Those are pretty fabulous results on a very tough course. Be proud…. We are 🖤❤️
HH currently sit in 9th place out of 17 teams 😍
Huge thanks to team RW 💖 for a great morning. The sixth and final fixture will take place on Sunday March 12th at Pett in Hastings. It is strongly recommended that we car share to this event as parking is VERY limited.
