Sunday 18th September – 2022

Organised by the fabulous Eastbourne based events team ‘We run, I Run, They Run’ the Bates Green Gallop is a run with a difference – as many 3.5 laps as you wish to run within a 6 hour time limit. 

Set in the home of the Bluebell walk, at Bates Green farm, Arlington near Hailsham the lapped course has a bot of everything on offer from wooded trails, beautiful Sussex countryside, across fields and over the River Cuckmere. 

At the end of each lap runners helped themselves to a well stocked aid station of watermelon 🍉, homemade cake 🧁, vegan sausage rolls, fruit 🍌, chocolate, tea, coffee ….. the buffet was full of endless delights😋 

Running for the Harriers and and racking up huge miles were Lisa ‘little legs’ Goldsmith, The Leeks, Los Jellybaby, Charlie Long, Jenny Katsoni, Julie Lewis-Clements and Michelle Hollands

This was a fantastic event with a wonderful supportive, friendly atmosphere.  Once finished all runners received a bespoke medal 🐮, chilled out in the beautiful sunshine ☀️ popped over to book a great massage 😉 or simply sat back and watched as fellow runners completed the rest of their laps. 

This event is a great opportunity to see how far you can go without the pressure of a fixed distance race. So if you’re training for a marathon next year be sure to keep this one in mind, but book in early as it sells out fast.
