Aveiro Half Marathon & 10K Portugal ☀️
Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April
The canals of Aveiro provided the perfect backdrop for a fantastic weekend of racing as runners took on the beautifully flat and fast Aveiro Half Marathon and 10K.
Known as the “Venice of Portugal”, the course wound through stunning waterways, colourful boats 🚤, coastal roads and vibrant crowds, creating a memorable atmosphere from start to finish.
Saturday’s 10K saw athletes flying around the speedy course, taking full advantage of the pancake-flat 🥞 roads and cool Atlantic breeze. With the route passing the famous canals and salt flats, it was the ideal combination of scenic and swift, producing some excellent performances and plenty of smiles at the finish line.
Mick Pasqua ⭐ delivered a superb performance running a personal best time 🎉 in 1:16:14.
Sunday then belonged to the Half Marathon runners, tackling 21.1km through the heart of Aveiro and out towards the coastal stretches around Ílhavo.
The event delivered everything runners could ask for, smooth organisation, enthusiastic support and a course built for rhythm and strong pacing.
Fay Stevensova 🩷rocked our black and red colours as she pushed through the heat and a slight sunglasses 🕶️ malfunction to finish strong in 2:28:55 🙌
Whether chasing PBs, soaking up the Portuguese sunshine ☀️ or simply embracing the experience of racing abroad, it was an unforgettable weekend of running.
Medals earned, post-race beers 🍺 consumed, and plenty of memories made for Mick and Fay 👫🏼in one of Europe’s most picturesque race locations.
Congratulations to you both and well done 👏🏻 😍🥰😘
