What a day on the stunning Sussex coast as Hailsham Harriers took on the ever-popular Seaford Martello Half Marathon 🏃‍♀️🌊

With a sea breeze in the air and rolling coastal paths underfoot, this race is always a toughie but that didn’t stop our black and red duo (Claire Keith 🍒 and Andrea Gilkes 🇭🇺 ) from absolutely delivering two outstanding performances 🙌

Leading from the front in sensational style was our unstoppable Claire 🍒 just one week on from the Brighton Marathon.  She stormed over the line to take the win for the ladies and a course PB of 1:35:40 🏆 🥇🔥

And doing it on her home turf made it all the more special, knowing every twist, turn and coastal stretch, Claire ran with confidence and strength 💪🏼

Right there in support and sharing the strength of the day was Andrea 🇭🇺 , also putting in a fantastic performance and showing the power of running in the black and red.  Andrea crossed the line in a mighty 2:15:00 ⭐ 🖤❤️🤍

This Martello course is known for its mix of beauty, coastal views, exposed sections, and plenty of undulation.  From the early miles along the prom 🌊 to the tougher stretches where it really counts, it was a day of determination, teamwork and proud finishes in the beautiful sunshine ☀️

And of course, a big shoutout to the organisers and volunteers who make this a brilliant event 👏🏻
