Saturday 21st October – 9am

In tough conditions compared to previous years, 542 runners took part in the Beachy Head 10K, which included thirteen hardy Harriers. 

With the weather conditions some of the worst seen within the last 8 years, the winds of up to 25mph certainly did not deter Aislinn 🐾 , Graham Pundye 🏃🏼‍♀️, Chris Little 🔥, Charlie 👩🏼‍⚕️, Wendy 🦵🏻, Tash 💪🏼, Victoria 👮🏻‍♀️, Nemo 🐟, Katie Manley 🌼, Gemma 🌺, Maria Stewart 🏃🏼‍♀️, Cathy 🥿 and Kirstie 🏊‍♀️ from tackling the mud, rain and hills.

Described as ‘a route with scenic views’, although probably not this year 😂 this event was introduced in 2013.  It’s certainly not for those who like a flat course as like the marathon, the half and the ultra there’s plenty of steep climbs, and undulating mixed terrain, before a nice, fast, downhill finish.

Our thirteen Harriers crossed the finish line, a little soggy but with fabulous times.  Aislinn 🐾 managed to stay upright this year and finish first female in an impressive time of 44:11 🏆 🥇 with Graham Pundye 😂 50:13 (first in age 🏆), Chris Little 🔥 51:24, Charlie 👩🏼‍⚕️ 51:29 (4th female and first in age 🏆), Wendy 🦵🏻 52:38 (5th female and first in age 🏆), Tash 💪🏼 58:58, Victoria 👮🏻‍♀️ 1:00:31, Nemo 🐟 1:01:17, Katie 🌼 1:05:10, Maria Stewart 🏃🏼‍♀️ 1:05:17, Gemma 🌺 1:06:27, Cathy 🥿 1:07:35 and Kirstie 🏊‍♀️ 1:22:54.

Big shout out to Gemma who took part in her first race in Harriers colours 🖤❤️, to Kirstie 🏊‍♀️ who didn’t want to miss out on the event atmosphere despite a calve issue and to Charlie 👩🏼‍⚕️, Wendy 🦵🏻and Graham 😂 who all went back for more the following day to run the Half marathon🤩
