โ˜€๏ธ Henfield Half Marathon ๐ŸŒŠย

Sunday 10th August 2025
Excitement bubbled for this race – a new event on the Sussex Grand Prix calendar to replace the postponed Hastings Half Marathon from March, and what a treat we were given! ๐Ÿฅฐ
Thirty-six of us joined 280 runners for this sold out half marathon on a beautiful but tropical summerโ€™s day in Henfield near Horsham.
The event was hosted by Henfield Leisure centre in conjunction with local running club Henfield Joggers ๐Ÿ’š and didnโ€™t they do a magnificent job.
The route took us over the trails and mixed terrain with a scenic off-road course along the banks of the River Adur and the disused railway path – the Downslink. Using flint paths, stiles, kissing gates and bridges we were delivered beautiful views and stunning scenery – undoubtedly the prettiest race in the SGP.
As a club we were once again proud to display strong team camaraderie and hardy performances as the largest team on the day.
Flying over the trails and first Harrier home saw our pocket rocket ย Chris Doherty ๐Ÿš€ battle for first place with Peacehavenโ€™s Ollie Sprague taking the overall win. Chris finished in an impressive 1:20:46 taking second place ๐Ÿฅˆ whilst Bartz ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€โœˆ๏ธ finished in 1:32:14, 15th place. ย Claire Keith ๐Ÿ’ had her own battle for first place with Seafordโ€™s Sam Alvarez and with just 20 seconds between them, Claire finished a mighty second place ๐Ÿฅˆ in 1:35:47 and first in age ๐Ÿ†.
Los Jellybaby ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ flew home in 1:39:50 despite suffering a wasp sting at the half way mark. Los was closely followed by team mates Audrey ๐Ÿ’Š , Woolley ๐Ÿงถ and Tinks ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿป who crossed the line together in 1:41:43, with KT ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 1:43:03, Ads ๐Ÿฆˆ 1:43:15, Oli ๐Ÿ’ฐ 1:46:43, Sarah ๐ŸŒธ 1:46:52, Maria Smith ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ 1:49:48, Ryan ๐Ÿ๏ธ 1:51:29, Chris Shoult ๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿป 1:52:27, Tom Price ๐ŸŽจ 1:52:43, Graham P(uns) ๐Ÿ˜‚ 1:53:14, Abi๐ŸŒท 1:54:48, Vinny ๐Ÿ’‚๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 1:55:31, Tracy ๐Ÿพ 1:58:34, Fluffy ๐Ÿธ 1:59:06, Steph๐Ÿง and Mark ๐Ÿถ 2:01:04, Belinda ๐ŸŒผ 2:04:08, Claire Shilling ๐Ÿช™ 2:11:31, Marcos ๐Ÿ’› 2:13:44, Ed ๐Ÿ˜ˆ 2:15:26, Victoria ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 2:17:07, Lou Lou Williams ๐ŸŒบ 2:23:20, Ros Daintree ๐Ÿ’2:30:22, Kevin ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ 2:31:06, Andrew Moore ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝ 3:32:16, Louisa ๐Ÿš and Andrea Gilkes ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡บ 2:35:52, Jayne ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ 2:36:03, Ros Thomson ๐ŸŒน 3:01:15 and Roberto ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น 3:20:56
