Sunday 30th April – 10:30am

The Haywards Heath 10 Mile is the second race in the Sussex Grand Prix League and also forms the second race in the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend, a set of three races held over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend.

Organised by the Nice Work 💚 events team and in conjunction with Haywards Heath Town Council, the race was a sell out this year with 500 runners taking part, a children’s fun run and mile race which started at 10am, making for a great, family, friendly.

The 10 mile, challenging course, which is two laps, starts on Haywards Heath high street with the first mile virtually all downhill before runners cover off-road paths, trails, footpaths and plenty of hills, before heading into Victoria Park for the finish line and medal presented by the Haywards Heath Mayor and Mayoress🏅 

Two of our newest Harriers, Claire Hope and Lou Lou Williams made their debut race for the Harriers on Sunday, rocking our black and red colours 🖤❤️ Both ladies were graduates in our inaugural C25K and have since been training hard, upping their miles and joining us all on our Sunday socials.  For them this was a huge step into the world of race events and we are all incredibly proud of you both 👏🏻 Finishing with huge smiles their determination and confidence is inspirational 🤩 

As a club we had a huge turnout on Sunday with 22 Harriers lining up on the start line with our black and red spirit shining through.  First Harrier home saw the speedy Woolley finish in an impressive time of 1:08:06 followed by Tinks 🧚🏻‍♂️ 1:12:44, Bassett Hound 🐶 1:19:41, Graham Pundye 1:21:16, Leeland 🚲1:23:50 (after smashing a parky PB the day before 😱), Fluffy 1:26:13 (despite still feeling pants 🩲), Chris Little 🔥 1:27:17, Steph 👧🏼 1:29:19, Victoria Little 👮🏻‍♀️ 1:29:30, Cross Country Hannah 💕 1:32:48, Lady Delves 😎 1:32:35, Katy Reed 1:34:40, Becky Holland 1:38:45, Katie Manley 🌼 1:40:35, Nemo 🐠1:41:37, Michelle MQ 👑 1:41:38, Julie LC 🐝 1:45:15, Lou Lou 🌟 1:45:10, Lisa PH 🧡 1:45:32, Darren 🚨 1:54:28 and Claire Hope 🌟 1:56:39

Huge shout out to Katy Reed who also ran her first ever 10 mile race and to all our London Marathoners who took part just a week after their epic successes – Michelle, Nemo 🐠, Frances 😎 and Hannah 🤩 

Also congratulations to two of our clubs awesome friends – Richard and Rachel Tanner who completed the full set of races.  The Burgess Hill 10M, The Haywards Heath 10M and the East Grinstead 10K 🏅🎖️ 🏅 Richard’s marathon time was 4:36:15 and Rachel 5:56:45.  Two great times on three very tough courses 👏🏻
