This year we are once again privileged to take part in the Masters (Over 35)Track and Field League organised by Sussex Athletics.

Four events make up the league which take part each month from May through to August.  These are very relaxed evenings giving club members a chance to show off their throwing, jumping and running skills whilst competing against other local clubs including Eastbourne Rovers, Lewes and Hastings to name a few.

This year all four fixtures will be held at Lewes Athletics track and all the action starts from around 6:15pm

Beginning the first round of fun and frolics on a beautiful sunny evening saw Nemo 🐠, Linford Crusty 🍪, Ed 😈, Robbie 🇮🇹, Andy Moore 🏃🏽, Big Si 🥊, Kirstie 🏊‍♀️, Graham Pundye 😂 and Lisa PH 🧡 take part in events which included the Javelin, Discus, 2000m Walk, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, Shot, 3000m and relays.

Our amazing team led by Linford Crusty 🍪 and Nemo 🐠 proudly took to the events like true Olympians, showing great team camaraderie and support throughout.   Amongst their sterling performances, Rob 🍪 finished first overall in the long jump, BIG Si 🥊 crossed the line first place in the 2000m walk, Nemo 🐠 was 3rd in the long jump, and Kirstie finished 4th in the discus 🙌

Big shout out to ed 😈 and Kirstie 🏊🏻 who despite struggling with a calve and toe injury🦶🏽, both showed up to take part and help out at the women’s javelin (as part of our commitment to the league we are required to help at an event discipline at each fixture).

The next fixture is on Wednesday 11th June, 6:15pm at Lewes Athletic Track.  Events include the Triple Jump, High Jump, Relays, 100m, 400m, Hammer, Shot, 1500m and finishing with a relay 🏌️‍♀️🤺⛹🏼‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️⛷️🪂🤾‍♂️
