The Rye Summer Classic Series, organised by the Nice Work events team, is a popular series of three Friday evening events featuring two 10K races and a season- ending final 5K. 

Three lovely Harriers gathered at the stunning Rye Harbour Nature reserve on Friday evening, September 2nd to take part in the race finalè, the 5K.

Ross, Aislinn and club legend Bill Fraser, raced the flat, fast, out and back 5K course set in one of Britain’s important conservation sites with beautiful, scenic views out to sea and the neighbouring town of Camber Sands. 

Rocket Ross flew around, even quicker than last year, in a magnificent time of 16:45  winning the race with Aislinn storming to the finish in a rapid 18:45 taking the win for the ladies Bill ran a fabulous race and with stiff competition in the V70 category he finished second in his age category in 25:30.

Both Ross and Aislinn took the double win in the first race of the series back in July and although they couldn’t make the 2nd race in August they still both managed to scoop the overall series wins for the mens and the ladies after Fridays race finalè woo hoo ….. double bubble.
