Lewes Athletic Club ❤️💛Easter Fun Runs are held every Easter Monday as part of the West Sussex Fun Run League – a series of 17 races over twelve months.

Held at and from the fabulous Lewes Athletic Club track at Wave Leisure Centre, Mountfield Road, Lewes, there are three events: The toddlers’ trot, a 400m (one lap)race around the track for small children (aided by their parents and carers if need be), a 1 mile race for juniors and a 10km race (for over-15s only).

Running for Hailsham on a very warm day 🐣 in the junior mile race saw John Gilkes run to an impressive 7:17 followed by a sensational run from Poppy Croucher in 8:27 and Oscar Croucher racing to a fabulous 8:31.

In the scenic, multi-terrain 10K course, 525 senior runners ages 17+ took part on a traffic-free course along the trails and paths south of Lewes.  Five Harriers embraced the Easter celebrations with Claire Keith 🍒 first Harrier home in 44:08, followed by Woolley 🧶 45:24, Graham Pundye 😂 49:27, Tina ⚽️ 50:17 and Andrea 1:00:07.

Congratulations to Claire’s boys, Taylor 7:23 and Harrison 7:29 who have both clearly inherited their mum’s running genes 🧬 It was a family affair for Claire 🍒 as she was joined at the event by her parents and family members running in the junior mile and 10K 🥰

With Summer almost here, we now look forward to welcoming our juniors to our club’s monthly track races 👍 with the first event, the 5K held last night (Wednesday 7th May) and the 3K scheduled for June 4th.
