Kicking off the increasingly popular East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League and hosted by Run Wednesdays 💖 this event saw a staggering 550 runners (juniors and Seniors) attend the first race at Whitbread Hollow on a blustery morning 💨 with a mixed bag of weather conditions ☀️ ☔️ 

It is with uppermost proudness that this year we saw four of our fabulous Junior Harriers attend the league, running for the U11 and U13’s.  Poppy Croucher, Daisy Bowles, Olivia Horne, and Amie Coppins hit the hollow hills first, displaying our black and red colours 🖤❤️ at their finest and showing the seniors how it’s done.

For the seniors, the undulating 8K course has runners going up and out of the Hollow towards the Beachy Head pub, heading to Belle Tout before making a turn at the cone and then running down, down, down, all the way to the finish post 🏁 Thankfully Danny G took out the tough hairpin bend from last year, and despite still being a very tough course it heralds a cross country race at its best 💖

A whopping 44 hardy Harriers 🖤❤️ turned out for Race 1 compared to last years 15!!  Of the 44 Harriers this year, we are delighted to welcome two of our newest Harriers, Tom Evan and Gary Woolven 👋🏻 Hugest big shout out to Louisa Geer, Claire Hope, Lou Lou Williams, Cathy, Connie, Andy Moore, Ros Daintree, Kirstie, Graham Pearson (penfold) and Anne taking part in their first EVER taste of cross country.
