🌴Seaford 10K 2025 🌊

Sunday 11th May 2026
With temperatures in the tropical 18°s 🥵 and very little sea breeze, 350 runners, including two mighty Harriers: Captain Bartz 👨🏻‍✈️ and Jo Davis 🏁, took part in the Seaford 10K on Sunday 11th May.
Jo 🏁has produced this awesome account of her day by the sea 🌊 an amazing PB! and her fall out with Strava 😂
Seaford 10k by Jo 🏁…..
The Seaford 10k is a lovely flat out and back route which goes from the Martello Tower towards the parkrun start/end point,  continuing to almost Denton Corner via the Tidemills Nature Reserve and back. In all honesty, it’s not the most professional race I’ve ever done, with km markers sporadically spray painted on the tarmac of the route, but it’s essentially a fundraising effort so that’s the more important thing.
After clocking a 1.20 last year, I was determined to do better this year, and had quietly decided that today was gonna be the day I was gonna get that elusive sub-60 10k…😬
It was a roasty toasty 🥵 morning and so I was prepared to bail on the goal if I needed to, but I’d built a playlist of tracks that theoretically should have got me to 5.50kms so I figured if I can keep up, I should be ok.
The race got going and I got into the rhythm of the playlist 🎶 – the first 4 miles were fantastic and although I was ahead of pace, I felt really good, even having enough breath to cheer Carl 👨🏻‍✈️ on for his return leg.
Mile 5 wasn’t the best and I abandoned the playlist at the very end…and the less said about mile 6, the better, and I’d pretty much decided to abandon the plan altogether in favour of a course PB instead.
Then I saw the Martello Tower, knew the end wasn’t too far past it…and I still had just under 2 minutes. We all know that’s the time to dig in and really push, so I pulled on the super power of my Harriers vest 🖤 ♥️, and threw literally everything I had at it. Crossed the line and immediately stopped the watch…waited with baited breath…59.24 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳!!!
I have since fallen out with Strava as the Strava tax has robbed me of the PB, however my official time is recorded as 59.45 so it 100% still counts and skunk Strava 🤣🤣!!!
🎤 Congratulations Jo on an amazing new 10K PB and an insane 20 minutes & 26 seconds faster than last year – wow 🤩 The results page proves you did it so sod strava!!!
Congrats also to Captain Bartz who flew over the line in a cool, calm 41:31 (29th overall) 🙌
Two absolutely sensational runs and a fabulous report of a tropical day by the sea 🌊  Well done team 🖤♥️
