Bewl 15

Voted as one of the UK’s best races and organised by Wadhurst Runners in conjunction with the Nice Work Events team, 13 determined Harriers faced the challenging, multi-terrain course around Bewl Water Reservoir on Sunday July 3rd, 2022.

It is certainly not an easy route with a little of everything thrown in, from tree routes to gravel, hills to country lanes, sweeping meadows and steep descents.  The event is well organised, set in a stunning location and with a medal, t-shirt, free cake and beer at the end, what’s not to love?!

First over the line for the Harriers in a mighty impressive performance saw the awesome Gary Judges in 1:48:16, followed by The Leeks with a shiny new personal best of 1:58:01, placing 3rd female overall and 1st in age.  Tinks also finished with a new PB in 2:06:48 placing 1st in age, closely followed by a super strong performance from BIG Si in 2:07:48. The Bewl 15 has always been Fluffy’s favourite race in the SGP calendar and this was evident as he finished in 2:22:09 with Chris Little hot on his heels in 2:27:30.  Enjoying the trail experience and running together in a pack were Victoria Little, Hannah DC, Shaun Webster, Steph Bassett and Mark Bassett.  Hannah finished with a new PB of 2:33:43, knocking a whopping 26 minutes off her previous time, with Steph 2:37:59, Mark 2:38:00, Victoria 2:38:14 and Shaun 2:38:16.  Graham Woolley also took it easy, running and enjoying the on/off road route with close friends as he finished in 2:36:16.

Congratulations to everyone that took part, the last uphill mile to the finish line was a killer, but it just goes to show that with determination, solid training, and courage  anything can be achieved🖤❤️

Love and hugs go our amazing club legend, Lady Delves who had a small fight with a tree route and took a little tumble at Bewl.  She is one tough cookie as she was back up and running for her wonderful team at the Last Legs Relays on Wednesday eve in true Harriers spirit.
