Race two/five 💚

Friday 5th June 2026

While many Harriers were still buzzing from Wednesday’s HH 3K Track Champs, one member clearly carried that speed into the weekend!

Representing Hailsham Harriers at the Nice Work Rye Summer 5K evening series on Friday 5th June, Bill Fraser ✉️ produced a superb run to finish in an impressive 28:43, his fastest 5K time of the year, his quickest 5K since 2023🙌 and two minutes quicker than the first race of the series back in May 8th.

Not only did Bill achieve a well-deserved personal milestone, but his performance also earned him 2nd place 🥈 in the V70 age category – a fantastic reward for the hard work, consistency and determination he continues to show week after week.

Perhaps those speedy laps around the track at our 3K Champs on Wednesday provided the perfect tune-up, but whatever the secret, Bill is enjoying a tremendous season and proving that dedication and enthusiasm can deliver outstanding results at any age.

As a club, we’re incredibly proud of the year Bill is having.  He is a brilliant example of what can be achieved through perseverance, commitment and a love of running, inspiring fellow Harriers every step of the way.

Congratulations Bill ✉️ on another fantastic performance – the black and red spirit is shining brightly and we can’t wait to see what you do for the next race on July 10th🖤❤️👏
