⛄️🎅🏻Christmas Scavenger Fun Run 🤶🏻🎄
Sunday 1st December 🧑🎄
The Christmas celebrations this year were once again put out to a members vote with the top choice a Christmas run followed by the option of a Christmas jumper dinner afterwards.
Following last year’s success, Abbotts Wood 🪵 was once again the setting for the Crimbo scavenger 🤶🏻 run with a meal at the Old Oak Pub, close by, to finish an afternoon of fun and frolics.
On the day the soggy weather ☔️ dried up in time for our band of festive Harriers ⛄️ 🎅🏻 as they met, dressed in impressive outfits at 2pm.
Our merry bunch were split into two teams (decided by pulling chocolate elves or chocolate nutcrackers from a filled stocking) with two team leaders chosen by those that picked chocolate santas 🎅🏻
Amongst many elements to score points we saw our teams hug a tree with the biggest girth, collect a Christmas list of objects, complete a piece of twig art 🌴, find their way via coloured coded ribbons 💙 💛, gather plenty of crimbo elf-ies and find an array of wooden decorations.
The run ended with a team rendition of their favourite Christmas carol 🎵 With collected items (the blow up candy canes were a big hit) before heading to the pub for a well deserved dinner 🥘 where the elves totted up the results.
With great efforts on the day by both teams, resulting in a very close call, the team with the winning points were team ‘Bad Elf Day’ They pipped team ‘scumbags and faggots’ by a reindeer nose with their hug a tree task🎄where they found a tree big enough for the whole team to hug.
Congratulations to Lee Williams and Jayne Morris who scooped first place 🥇 for their festive outfits with Jo Davis and Kev Morris finishing a mighty second🥈
Big thanks to Lisa PH 🧡, Fluffy 🐌, Felicity 🌺, and Jinx 🐕 for helping to set up the course in soggy conditions, and to Oli 💷, Fluffy 🐌, Hannah ⛺️, Victoria 👮🏻 and Felicity 🌺 for helping to bring the event together.
