The Lydd 20-miles and Half Marathon🌊
Sunday 9th March 2025 ☀️
Heading across the coast to Lydd we saw The Ledge 🖤♥️, Lady Delves 👸🏼, Coach Ads 🦈, Louisa 🚁, Nikki 👧🏼and Ros 🌺 take part in the Lydd 20-miles with Robbie 🇮🇹 and Tinks 🧚🏻 running the half marathon.
The Lydd 20 and Half marathon are long established events, which take place on a pancake flat 🥞 course in and around the quiet country lanes 🌲 surrounding the marsh town of Lydd in Kent. Described as ‘the perfect opportunity to test pace, hydration and nutrition 🍏 for future marathons’, many runners, if the conditions on the day are right, finish with new PB’s ⭐️
Conditions on the day were a little different to the cold 🥶 temperatures we had been experiencing of late, with the sun shining and a nice sea breeze making it feel s warm 17°.
Our team of 20-milers each had sensational performances with many achieving 20-mile PB’s;
Ads 🦈 flew over the line, first Harrier home with a PB in a rapid time of 2:16:06 🙌 followed by Louisa 🚁 also with a new PB of 3:40:43, The Ledge 🖤♥️ and Lady Delves showing us all how its done and finishing strong together in 3:42:48, our beautiful Sophie 🌹 running a new PB in 3:58:14, and Ros Thomson 🌺 also running a new PB in
4:12:10.
Big shout out to Nikki 👧🏼 who decided to pull out from the race but still achieved her longest ever mileage of 17 miles. We are all very proud of you Nikki👏🏻
All that Winter weather training, marathon plans and Sunday social running paying off team💪🏼 Be proud of those PB’s 🖤❤️
Ads and Nikki will be running the Brighton marathon on Sunday April 6th, Louisa will be running the UK 50K ultra in May, whilst The Ledge, Lady Delves, Ros and Sophie will be running the London Marathon 🙌 on April 27th.
Over in the half marathon we saw Tinks finish first Harrier home in 1:40:24 placing first in age 🏆 and Robbie crossing the line in 2:58:53 also finishing first in age 🙌
A big shout out to Maria and Mel Stanford who gave up their time to marshal for Nice Work – An asset for all the runners on a beautiful morning 🌺
Congratulations to all our Lydd Runners Those are mighty awesome performances on what turned out to be a tropical day 🔥 We are all very proud 💪🏼 🥹
