Tempo Last Leg Relays 🦵🏻🦵🏻
Wednesday 12th July -7pm
The Tempo Last Leg Relays is a running event with a twist …. 4 runners but 5 legs. The fifth leg is run by the whole relay team with their finishing time taken as the last team member crosses the line. Each leg is approximately 3kms (1.77 miles) from Poo Palace, along the seafront 🌊 turning at the tennis courts 🎾 and heading back.
It was amazing to see Eastbourne seafront filled with 17 local running clubs and a total of 64 teams, coming together to join in an evening of excitement, high spirits and friendly competition.
A sea of 24 black and red 🖤❤️vests gathered before the start with Hailsham Harriers fielding six teams for the evening (One ladies team, 3 men’s teams and 3 mixed teams) with the running order chosen by each team member.
This year runners were faced with the extra challenge of a 20mph headwind but that certainly did not stop our amazing teams from each running fantastic performances 💪🏼
