2026 Rye 10 🌳 🏡 ☀️
Sunday 17th June 2026
Ten Harriers headed to the beautiful market town of Rye on 17th May for the fourth race in this year’s Sussex Grand Prix series, taking on the ever-popular Rye 10 Mile.
A firm favourite on our local racing calendar, the course winds its way through picturesque country lanes, past traditional oast houses 🏠 and over a series of testing hills. Thankfully, all that climbing is rewarded with a wonderfully fast downhill mile back towards the finish line!
As always, the black and red vests were out in force 🖤❤️, with fantastic performances throughout the field. Leading the Harriers home saw Gary Crossan 🏃🏻♂️ run a superb 1:12:06, while Tinks 🧚🏻 finished in 1:14:31 to claim 3rd 🥉 female overall and 1st in age 🏆
There was more success as Jo McGowan 🌷 secured another age category victory 🏆 with an excellent 1:19:53, while Belinda Cramp 🌺 ran strongly to finish 2nd 🥈 in her age group.
What stood out most, however, was the determination and team spirit shown by every Harrier on the course. Whether chasing podium places, age-group awards, season’s bests or simply enjoying the challenge, every runner played their part in another fantastic club turnout.
Hailsham Harriers sensational performances :
• Gary Crossan 🏃🏽 – 1:12:06
• Helen O’Sullivan 🧚♀️ – 1:14:31
• Jo McGowan 🌷 – 1:19:53

• Simon Haddon 🥊 – 1:23:54
• Gary Smith 🐸 – 1:24:11
• Felicity Williams 🇫🇷 – 1:50:57
• Ros Thomson ❤️ – 1:59:26
The Rye 10 Mile is a brilliant example of what Sussex racing is all about, friendly, well-organised, challenging and rewarding.
If you’ve never raced it before, make sure you add it to your list for next year. With stunning scenery, a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of Harriers to share the experience with, it’s a race well worth tackling.
Well done to all our runners for another fantastic representation of Hailsham Harriers and to those who changed their plans last minute after the cancellation of the towns community runs❤️🖤
