Race 4/5 – Sunday 18th February 2024

Hosted by Lewes AC, and after a night of torrential rain, the conditions underfoot were mud, mud, and more mud for the challenging 4.8 mile course, which marked the penultimate race of the 23/24 season.

It did not matter what you had on your feet – trails, spikes or wellies 😂 the challenge to finish upright was tough!!

311 runners from 18 clubs hit the start line and amongst them, twenty four Harriers braved the elements, each delivering incREDible performances with a hardy showing of grit and determination🖤❤️

Final results were as follows; Dave Garratt 🏊🏻 🚲 🏃🏾‍♂️ first Harrier home in 33:45, followed by Chris Doherty 🚴, 33:52, Bartz 👨🏻‍✈️ 34:21, Los Jellybaby 👶🏼 34:26, Gary Woolven 🏃🏾‍♂️ 34:48, Bilts ⚽️ 36:39, Alice 🏃🏻‍♀️ 38:17, Graham Pundye 😂 38:44, Tinks 🧚🏻 39:02, Shipo 🚢 39:13, Popey 🙏🏻 39:50, Robin 🏄🏼‍♂️ 40:56, Chris Shoult 🦵🏻 41:29, Ruby Murrie 43:01, Abi 🌷 43:17, Charlie 👩🏻‍⚕️43:24, Nadine 👧🏼 43:34, Connie 👧🏻 43:34, Ros Daintree 🌺 47:52, Julie Chicken 🐓 49:50 , Deano 💪🏼50:06, Nemo 🐟 51:14, Louisa 🥰 57:09, and Penfold 🐭 1:16:04

Congratulations to Alice 🏃🏻‍♀️ running her debut race in Harriers colours and a big shout out to Graham Pearson (Penfold 🐭), who took a terrible tumble at mile 4 but in true Harriers spirit wasn’t letting that finish line get away.  Amazing stuff graham 💪🏼 

Charlie 👩🏻‍⚕️, in training for her upcoming ultra marathon, sandwiched her XC run in between a 20 miler 🤩 now that is impressive – well done Charlie 🖤❤️
