Harriers Xmas Run EventsPosted by Admin 2014-11-29 13:34:19 Posted In Mens Captain
The Turkey Trot will take place on the evening of Tuesday the 16th December. Please arrive for 6-45 so that I have time to sort out the running order I will aim to start for 7-15. The winner will of course win a turkey. After the event the London marathon ballot will take place., for those who entered but were unsuccessful in the main ballot. To qualify I would like to remind everyone that you have to have been a member for 12 months and priority will be given to those who have not had the opportunity to run this event before. I will of course require some evidence that who were unsuccessful and of course you have to be a paid up member. We will also be holding a raffle and Eleanor has organised some fab prizes including a Christmas hamper and afternoon tea for 2 at the Hydro Hotel so please bring along some money for this. I would ask that you also bring along some food/ drink so that we can enjoy a social buffet after the run.
On Christmas morning itself I will be holding an informal run along Eastbourne seafront meeting at the pier for 9 am and a gentle 3 to 4 mile run in the usual social style will take place. Christmas hats are usually considered de riguer for this event.
Then on Boxing Day there will be a social event meeting at Summerheath Hall for a between 2 and 3 mile run where I will ask you to predict a time for a course that I set you the winner will be the person who most accurately predicts there time. It is a great opportunity to clear some of the excesses of the previous day.
These events are important to our club and are a great way to celebrate the festive season with like minded people doing what we love as well as a chance to not pile on to much. So do please come along and enjoy if you are able.
Yours in Sport as always
